Celebrating Greatness

Recognize and honor teacher achievements

CATA is fortunate to have one of the best groups of professionals any industry could ask for. It is no secret that the agricultural educators of California are a family. Each year we look forward to highlighting and showcasing those who are setting the bar when it comes to leadership, pedagogy, and professional development. Join us as we not only recognize the achievements of our fellow colleagues, but also to honor and celebrate those entering the profession for the first time, and those who have dedicated their careers to agricultural education.

Summer Conference gives us the space to come together to reimagine our governance and structure; from executive and regional leadership, to curricular codes and division meetings. A Fresh Perspective

Each year, over 900 passionate middle school, secondary and postsecondary agricultural educators from across California convene for the California Agricultural Teachers’ Association (CATA) Summer Conference. Educators are immersed into relevant conversations around the current and future state of agricultural education. During our time together, we gain valuable experience through engaging continuing education workshops and inspiring keynote speakers, while also become motivated through the recognition and honor of our colleagues' accomplishments and contributions to the profession.

After 102 years, CATA Summer Conference continues to be a preferred experience for agricultural educators across California as a place to network and grow while gaining insight and knowledge on expanding their industry perspective and the latest in pedagogical practice. CATA Summer Conference has the potential to be transformative – a pivotal boost to educators’ personal, professional,  and academic lives.

“This past year and a half has impacted us on unprecedented levels; our personal and professional lives have shifted in ways we never imagined were possible. It is no surprise that those in our profession prevailed - we persevered, we leaned into the change, and we found ways to continue to deliver the excellence that California agricultural educators have always done. At this year’s CATA Summer Conference, we are focusing on the future - our future. “Zooming into a New Decade” is about our ability to adapt, pivot, and focus on the goals and mission our profession demands of us. Join us as we honor the past, celebrate the future, and strive to build a new perspective on how we can continue to enrich and enable the lives of nearly 95,000 agricultural education students from across our great state.”
